Located in downtown Coos Bay in the art-deco former post office, the Coos Art Museum is the largest art museum on the Pacific Coast between San Francisco and Canada and the third oldest art museum in Oregon. A wide variety of art works in many media are on display.
A special section on the second floor is devoted to Steve Prefontaine, the most famous runner ever produced by Oregon, who was born and reared in Coos Bay.
